I don't know about all of you, but I am a HUGE fan of HG TV.  So I decided to see what I could do around the house for very little money.



On Labor Day weekend I took the plunge and painted pretty much the entire downstairs of my house.  Living in Center Square, in an old house - that's quite an undertaking.  With windows, radiators, fireplaces, doors and high ceilings to contend with.



The color went from a very light beige to golden / orange called "opulent."  Wow - what a change.  For the first few days I went from "This is great" to "what have I done?"



The other major change was purchasing new bookcases.  They really nice and look much more grown up! 



With two coats of paint, trim paint and three new bookcases - the house has been transformed.  Everything is back in it's place and the artwork was re-arranged and re-hung, and I just love it.



So if you are not into buying a new house - and who is right now - you can get a whole new look and love your house again on a very small budget!
